REGISTRATION IS OPEN!
There are 20 spots on the main list. If all are reserved, we will open a waiting list.
📝
To sign up for the slam: send an email to: wodnica@wp.pl and ask to be added to the list; you may add a pseudonym if you want to perform under one.
⏰
Registration is open until February 20 at 23:59. If there are free spots on the main list, you can register directly before the slam.
PRIZE AND JURY
- Prize to be won: audience prize (from the audience).
- Please bring something nice for the winner — a contribution for the winner’s bag from the audience.
- The audience is the only jury; voting by raising hands after each performance (in the heats) and after the paired performances in the semifinal and final.
BASIC SLAM RULES
- Each participant performs their own poem.
- Each performance lasts from 3 to 4 minutes (depending on the stage).
- No props or instruments are allowed.
- You may use a cheat sheet (a piece of paper, phone or other device with the text).
- The only judge is the audience; both the text and the performance are evaluated (interpretation, facial expression, choreography, diction and charisma).
- You may recite from memory or improvise.
The slam will have 3 rounds:
- Eliminations — each performance max 3 minutes; order decided by draw; votes counted by raising hands after each performance.
- Semifinal — head-to-head pairs; pairings and order decided by draw; 3.5 minutes per performance; voting by raising hands after each pair’s performances.
- Final — head-to-head of the semifinal winners; 4 minutes per performance; voting by raising hands after both finalists have performed.
In case of a tie in a semifinal pair or when fighting for entry to the semifinal, there will be a one-minute tiebreaker.
🎟️
Entry is free, but Złoty Osioł hosts us for free — we ask for support, e.g. using the drink offerings.
