It’s a co-creator – sourced in Nepal, found in a forgotten studio, or brought by friends instead of a postcard. Each has its own scent, weight, and aura. They open the door to drawing. Brzozowska doesn’t construct plans or theories. She sits at the table and lets the paper suggest the line, lets the stain spread on its own. Sometimes a figure is born, other times a landscape of craters, and yet other times – pure play with shape. The works are not sketches for something “bigger” – they are complete records of breath. Her practice lives between the city and the forest. In the city, drawing becomes a counterbalance to the daily rhythm – a return to equilibrium. In the old stone house, among trees, the line thickens, gains calm and focus. There, time flows slower, and images are born like conversations – slowly, from silence. In the background pulses family heritage: a sensitivity to framing inherited from photography and film, papers sourced from various places. It’s an echo that resonates in her work, but never dominates. The process is always at the center – attentive, intuitive, open to what the material brings. The exhibition title sounds like a note in the margin: “The chain of associations is good and there’s no need to overthink it.” That’s exactly how her works are created – from gesture, from material, from attentiveness. Their strength lies in simplicity, in allowing the form to emerge on its own. The exhibition will end with a finissage.
