📅 Saturday, November 29, 2025, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM 📍 Warsaw, Ursynów - our school hut (Puzonistów 4A) The meeting is without children, dedicated to parents. 📝 Please send applications via the form: https://forms.gle/B8wwa3obgDPsDkSs9 💸 Participation in the meeting is FREE. --- WHAT WILL WE TALK ABOUT? During the meeting, we will talk about what everyday life looks like at the Warsaw Forest School WATASZKA - a place where education, expeditions, contact with nature, and relationships form a coherent whole. We will discuss, among others, topics such as: - how children learn in the forest school and what a standard day at Wataszka looks like, - how we implement the core curriculum in grades 0–8 (primary school), - how we see structure in the schedule, and in which areas children can decide, - how we combine learning from textbooks and books with learning through experience, - what forest education means to us and how often children learn in nature (city + nature), - how we support children in emotional, social, and cognitive development, - how our community works and how we see the democratic school model in practice, - how the recruitment process to our school works, the number of available places for the current school year and the next 2026/27, - what formal enrollment in homeschooling looks like and passing the school year (exams), - what the monthly costs (tuition) are and additional costs resulting from the daily rhythm. --- WHO ARE WE? WATASZKA is a forest school (primary school grades) that was established a year ago in Warsaw's Ursynów district. The school is located in a wooden house on a forest plot among pines and birches, just 800 meters from Kabacki Forest and 400 meters from fields, meadows, and Lake Zgorzała - in both places we have our field and expedition bases. Our days (the school operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM) are divided between learning in the hut (in the building and in the garden) and in nature. Children from our school: - write, read, and count, use textbooks and notebooks, just like in a traditional school, - create projects, construct, build with wood, sew, paint, and conduct experiments, but at the same time - explore nature in its natural rhythm, - walk barefoot, - climb trees, learn the basics of bushcraft, wander through cities, visit social and exhibition spaces, - sit by the fire every day and learn through action - in motion. The WATASZKA team consists of caregivers (educators), guides of everyday school life, and workshop leaders (teachers) who teach subjects such as Polish, mathematics, biology, art, and English. The school staff consists of 9 adults. It is a combination of mindfulness, structure, and freedom – allowing each child to develop at their own pace, surrounded by the foundations and principles of forest education. --- OUR PILLARS: - GUIDE - an adult who accompanies, supports, sets paths, but does not lead "by the hand", allows to experience and discover - HOME - a safe space where you can be yourself, create, rest, and experience. - FOREST AND WORLD - a space for learning and discovery, from nature to urban expeditions, through bushcraft and wilderness hikes - COMMUNITY - together we create a school village and learn co-responsibility, where children and adults have their duties and mindfully care for what surrounds them (nature, people, home) --- FOR WHOM? We invite both parents who want to enroll their children in Wataszka in the current school year 2025/2026 (we still have a few places for children from grades 0–6), as well as parents who plan to START with us from September 2026. The meeting is the first step in the recruitment process - we invite parents who feel they want their child to learn close to nature, close to themselves, and close to adults. --- ✉️ lesnaszkola.wataszka@gmail.com 📞 504 046 528 See you by the fireplace Tomasz Wrzosek Forest Democratic School WATASZKA
