    About the event

We invite you this Friday, February 6 at 7:00 PM. We will open the solo exhibition by Agnieszka Apoznańska, where we will present the artist’s latest works. See you there! The wave will caress us like a dream. And our dream, blue as the wave, will draw us toward lands where we are not. Love will be in our hair like the breeze, the breath of algae will perfume us, and beneath our eyelids, without our knowing it, we shall smile. All the roses will bend on their branches and come to serve as our pillows. To turn our sleep into harmony, the nightingales will give up their own sleep. Kostas Karyotakis, Ύπνος She lies immersed in fabric upon a bed of flowers, absent, half-asleep. The youngest of the Charites, the Greek goddess of rest and hallucination, wife of Hypnos – Pasithea. She arrives when the body at last releases its tension, when thoughts are absorbed by velvet. She is the guardian of those who have been told all their lives that rest must be earned, and of those who dream of a moment of calm unburdened by guilt. In her artistic practice, Agnieszka Apoznańska navigates between dreams and reality. Her ethereal, intimate paintings trace moments of retreat, when the desire to be perceived in a particular way quietly dissolves. This body of work is about letting go of the pose. Masks are shed in the privacy of the bedroom, behind a curtain, in the half-light. For her, intimacy is not a spectacle performed for others, but a quiet process of reclaiming softness – toward oneself. In Apoznańska’s work, sensuality appears at the moment the body lets go of control. It arises in ease and unfolds through touch and closeness to material: skin brushing against linens, hair, fabric, a yielding surface. The artist dreams are untouched by worry. Gently blurred contours dissolve the boundaries between body and surroundings, while the palette – built on pinks, beiges, crimsons, and violets – evokes associations with the warm interior of the womb, the last refuge where nothing disturbed us. Pasithea is an invitation into such a state: a rest that requires no justification. The exhibition is accompanied by a scent composed by the artist-perfumer Zuzanna Ziętek, allowing for a multisensory experience.
