Dekafka is a blend of cabaret, a film showcase and a discussion club. A group of comedians will present texts with a literary bent and play with absurdity in front of the audience. The purpose of Dekafka is to attempt to revive the old satirical tradition — the one that began with the Skamandrites and the Green Balloon.
The name Dekafka refers to the DKW car, whose parts came from different factories and parishes. During our evening there will also appear elements that don’t fully fit together:
- Sketches, monologues, songs — abstract, often poetic, absurd, different.
- Short film pieces — created by the performers.
- Short film pieces — submitted by the audience (one of them will receive a prize — based on the decision of a jury selected from the audience).
- Discussion club — the evening’s main motif, where the audience speaks live and in real time about the sketches, monologues, songs and films.
PERMANENT LINE-UP:
- Ścibor Szpak — a Czechophile, Hungarophile, Francophile. Doctor of the absurd and marketing director with the soul of François Villon. Winner of the first prize at PaCe (2011), the audience award at PaCe (2011) and the Grand Prix at PaCe (2013). He has won awards at other festivals too, but there are far too many to list in one place.
- Marek Grabie — writer, director, Dr. Dreyfus. Creator of the most absurd Polish cabarets of the first decade of the twenty-first century. He has collaborated with Grzegorz Halama and edited Nowy Pompon. Director of “Film with English Subtitles,” which is cult in certain circles.
- Adam Grzanka — well-known master of ceremonies, stand-up comedian and Hutas. He co-created the Formacja Chatelet cabaret during its heyday and literariness. He listens to metal, dazzles the audience, and every year leads the Nowa Huta Tracksuit Parade.
- Tomasz Biskup — stand-up comedian and master of ceremonies. He co-created the AD HOC group. With the PUK cabaret he performed for five seasons at the KTO Theatre. For a decade he has hosted the Poetry Slam at the Magazyn Kultury, which can boldly be called the largest recurring literary event in Kraków.
