About the pressure of being "as one should", norms, algorithms, courage, and personal definitions. Who decides what is "normal": the majority, institutions, algorithms, or myself? At this Junto meeting, we will explore when norms help us collaborate and when they turn into cages. We'll take a closer look at social media, which shapes patterns and ideals, and consider whether "normality is sexy," where the line between normal/abnormal lies, and why we draw it at all. We'll also touch on mechanisms of conformity (from Asch to real dilemmas at work) and the personal question "Am I normal, and how do I feel about it?" The meeting will be intimate, based on conversation, attentive listening, and sharing experiences. You'll leave with a clearer personal definition of normality and a few ideas on how to consciously use it. 👉 Where did the idea for Junto come from? The first Junto Club was founded by Benjamin Franklin in 1727. From those weekly conversations emerged, among other things, the first public library in America and a volunteer fire department—proof that good debates can lead to real actions for the community. https://www.geekowojazer.pl/klub-junto/ Junto is intimate meetings (up to 10 people): no slides, no "stage," no pretentiousness. Instead of experts, we focus on curiosity, attentiveness, conversation, and thinking. We sit at one table, everyone has time, differences of opinion are welcome, and the goal is to understand each other and articulate personal conclusions. I invite everyone regardless of views; I believe every perspective can bring value. If you want to talk about important things, without pretense or masks—you're welcome. 👉 Meeting host My name is Michał Mazur. I live in Warsaw, I am an engineer and cognitive coach. For years, I've been navigating between psychology, sociology, history, and social cybernetics; I enjoy sports, travel, and tough questions. What excites me most are deep conversations and testing new ideas—on the mat, at the gym, and on my blog Geekowojażer: https://www.geekowojazer.pl/o-mnie/ I'm looking for people who want to talk wisely and build genuine relationships—without small talk. 👉 Let's meet 📅 September 23 (Tuesday), 18:00–20:00 📍 Klubokawiarnia Jaś i Małgosia, al. Jana Pawła II 57 01-024 Warsaw Free entry – as a thank you, order something at the bar. They have an interesting menu :) Please reserve your spot using the form below. ❗❗ LIMITED SEATS - MAX 10 ❗❗ LINK TO REGISTRATION: https://tally.so/r/mJPvVJ 👉 Meeting agenda: - Welcome and participant introductions - Warm-up questions - Main discussion 👉 Common doubts → I don't have time – it's just two hours; shorter than another session of mindless scrolling or binge-watching. → I can't afford it – the only cost is a drink or dessert, which you'd buy for yourself over the weekend anyway. → It probably won't work for me – the mastermind format works because it's created by ordinary people ready to speak honestly. → I don't believe in discussion groups – Junto has been inspiring people to act for nearly 300 years. → I don't need this – if you never feel lonely, come and share your recipe; if you sometimes do, you'll find understanding and ideas for change here. Check it out yourself – bring openness, your favorite drink, and see how one evening can truly be shared. 👉 More about previous meetings and the idea of the Warsaw Junto Club https://hollow-mars-d1d.notion.site/Junto-13c852004c6e80e2a548d9d48936331f?pvs=74
