There will be no expedition Rita Mawuena Bennisan, Pamela Bożek, Józef Gałązka, Kinga Nowak, Patrick Tagoe-Turkson, Kwaku Yaro 📅 September 19 – October 31, 2025 ASPEKTY Art Gallery Aleje Ujazdowskie 16, Warsaw Exhibition opening as part of the WGW+ section https://warsawgalleryweekend.pl/wgw-plus?wgw=1 📅 September 19 – 21, 2025 🕒 Opening hours: 11:00 - 19:00 The exhibition engages in intercultural dialogue, focusing on ethical and equitable representation of inspirations and cultural flows between Poland and West Africa. The multi-threaded narrative is based on the personal experiences of the artists. Participation of individuals from Ghana is supported by the OmenaArt Foundation (https://omenaartfoundation.com). - Fabric is a common point in the practices of artists from different cultural contexts: Rita Mawuena Benissan and Pamela Bożek carry out their projects together with communities outside the world of contemporary art. - Patrick Tagoe-Turkson and Józef Gałązka create upcycling art, using waste to comment on the climate crisis and overproduction – for the Ghanaian artist, it is also a reflection on environmental degradation in a region affected by global imbalance. - An innovative interpretation of the fabric medium and its unusual, plastic materiality intertwine in the work of Kwaku Yaro. - Kinga Nowak's paintings, inspired by the traditions of West Africa and international discussions about the restitution of property looted during colonization, refer to the historical background of today's cultural flows.
