Do you know how paint is made? What techniques did past masters use before ready-made oil and acrylic paints were available? The Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw invites adults to a painting workshop where we will make paint from scratch and discover the secrets of egg tempera — one of the oldest and most fascinating painting techniques.
The meeting begins with a short visit to the exhibition "The Woman Question 1550–2025," where we will look at Felicja Curyło’s work "Self-Portrait." Then, in the workshop space, we will explore the process of making paint from natural ingredients: pigment, water, and egg yolk. Each participant, using their self-prepared medium, will create a unique piece on canvas or paper.
We recommend the workshop both to people who paint regularly and to those who last painted in primary school art classes.
The session will be led by Anik Radzimińska — a visual artist and educator, graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She has collaborated with the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw since 2024. Her practice focuses on painting and collective processes. She conducts workshops for children and adults, including sensory-friendly workshops and tours for parents with small children.
