About the event

Conferences Acclaiming Transparent Science | CATS in Mind | CATS: Sciences of the Mind | UW edition | 2026

Are you interested in the relationship between brain and mind? Do you value an environment of open scientific discourse? And do you like cats?

  • you listen, nod, and leave without any concrete takeaway
  • the substantive discussion ends in the corridors
  • you listen to monologues with no space for discussion
  • “younger” and “older” people don’t talk to each other

Us too. That’s why we want to do it differently. Welcome to the second edition of CATS – at the University of Warsaw! It takes place under the slogan CATS about the mind.

CATS is a conference where:

  • content matters, not title and show
  • feedback matters, not only points and certificates
  • presentations concern research ideas, not finished results

Who is it for? ANY person interested in scientific research and research development in areas concerning the intersection of brain and mind. Therefore, people associated with:

  • Psychology
  • Cognitive Science
  • Neuroinformatics
  • Neurobiology
  • Philosophy
  • And more!

📅
28–29 March 2026

📍
Faculty of Psychology, University of Warsaw (ul. Banacha 2D, Warsaw)

💰
Price: TBA — we aim to keep it as low as possible (certainly below 90 PLN)

What are the participation options?

  • Active participation – poster presentation (scientific poster)
  • Passive participation – attending, listening and being part of the discussion

Posters can be presented in categories:

  • Philosophical – e.g. works in philosophy of mind or science, metascience
  • Theoretical – e.g. meta-analyses, ideas for validation or introduction of new data analysis tools
  • Empirical – e.g. ideas for empirical studies (qualitative and quantitative)

🗓
Registration schedule:

  • active participation: 12.01.2026–22.02.2026
  • passive participation: 12.01.2026–15.03.2026

📝
Application form: formularz zgłoszeniowy

We introduce an innovative system of individual feedback for poster presenters. Presentations may concern research projects and studies at an early stage of implementation (more on the CATS website).

Program:

Program: TBA. See the previous edition at Jagiellonian University: previous edition at Jagiellonian University

In summary:
CATS is a conference where you have the chance to share knowledge across divides, regardless of the stage of your academic path. It is an event where we value scientific development and individual feedback, aiming to promote dialogue and scientific discourse instead of presenting only finished results.

If these ideas resonate with you, we warmly invite you to participate in CATS and help shape the future of dialogue in the academic community with us!
