We invite you to an Open Chess Workshop with one of Poland’s most outstanding chess players — Grandmaster Bartosz Soćko. He will share his path to the grandmaster title, present interesting combinations and signature games, and finally play against brave participants chosen from the audience. This is a unique opportunity to learn and get inspired by one of Poland’s most decorated Polish grandmasters.
About the grandmaster:
- He earned the Grandmaster (GM) title in 1999.
- As a junior he won the Polish Junior Championship twice (1994, 1995).
- Three-time Polish Champion in the senior competition (2008, 2013, 2023).
- Three-time gold medalist in rapid chess (1998, 2002, 2004).
- Two-time gold medalist in blitz chess (2011, 2012).
- Twelve-time team Polish Champion.
- Longtime representative of Poland at Chess Olympiads; medalist at team European and World Championships.
- Winner of many prestigious international tournaments.
- Qualified for the World Cup in 2011.
- Former coach of the Polish National Chess Team.
- Highest FIDE rating: 2663 (2014).
