Are you looking for time for quiet reflection? Space for personal prayer? Or perhaps wondering how to experience the Way of the Cross a little differently this year?
If so, the Academic Extreme Way of the Cross is an ideal option for you! We invite you to walk a demanding path of renunciation, where you will experience pain and fatigue, yet through which you will better understand and more deeply live the Passion of the Lord Jesus. This will be a fruitful time that will bring you closer to a deeper knowledge of the Love God has for us.
The event will begin with Holy Mass in the Academic Church of St. Anne. Afterwards we will set out on the ADKe route, which runs along the Vistula in Warsaw and is approximately 34 km long. We encourage walking the entire route, but you may walk selected sections as you see fit. ADKe takes the form of individual prayer, so we suggest spending this time alone or in small groups. Please maintain silence to create a space for prayer and reflection for yourself and other participants. Before setting out, it is worth preparing your own wooden cross and attaching it to your backpack.
Note: The rector of the Academic Church is not the legal organizer of the event and is not responsible for any unwanted incidents during a solo walk. There is no registration required for ADKe — the Way of the Cross can be started with Mass in the Academic Church, and the ending is individual.
