    About the event

The "Reenactment march through Warsaw on the 81st anniversary of the outbreak of the Warsaw Uprising following the footsteps of insurgents from Mosina" will take place as part of the SAMI SWOI Disabled Association project in Mosina "We Wanted Poland – Heroes of Two Uprisings". During the march through the streets of the capital on August 1, a 25-person group of historical reenactors - volunteers from the Association playing the roles of medics and insurgents, will remind passersby of the events of 1944, of the heroes fighting and dying on the barricades of this city. Along the route of the march, they will participate in official anniversary ceremonies, including in General Orlicz-Dreszer Park at the Mokotów Fighting Monument, in the Mokotów March, and at the ceremony at the Monument to the Soldiers of Baszta. They will visit places associated with Warsaw insurgents from Mosina – Aleksandra Gniot-Niewęgłowska and Marian Dobrowolski, two of over 1,000 people from Greater Poland who fought on the capital's barricades. At 5:00 PM, on the anniversary of the "W" hour, they will pay tribute to the heroes of Warsaw. The march will be accompanied by small forms of historical reenactments. The day before, on July 31, the reenactors will participate in a walk through the Old Town with Warsaw Insurgents during the "Rickshaw for the Insurgent" event. On August 2, as part of cooperation with the National Education Office of the Institute of National Remembrance - a project partner, they will visit the cemetery at Warsaw's Powązki, guided by an IPN guide. The second planned project event will be dedicated to the Greater Poland Insurgents of 1918–1919 from the Mosina region and will take place in Mosina on the 107th anniversary of the victorious uprising of Greater Poland residents, on December 27, as part of the municipal celebrations of the National Day of Victory.
