    About the event

Wiera Gran was an artist of world-class stature . Exceptionally talented, endowed with a deep voice, she performed in the most famous concert halls in the world. She was an extraordinary woman – beautiful, gifted, and full of passion. However, a shadow fell over Wiera Gran – for most of her life, she was hounded, fighting accusations of collaboration with the Gestapo. The creators of the show conduct a careful analysis of the artist's psyche, combining the confession of an elderly woman with memories from a glittering past. The songs recalled during the performance complete the colorful portrait of the artist. "Wiera Gran" is a story about a Polish singer and cabaret actress of Jewish descent. About a great but forgotten star of the stage. This intimate performance, played on the Emilian Stage, transports the audience to New York's Carnegie Hall, concert halls in Paris, Tel Aviv, as well as to the Café Sztuka in the Warsaw Ghetto, where Wiera Gran once performed. The creators of the show, following in Wiera Gran's footsteps, wanted to commemorate this extraordinary figure, who used to visit the tenement at "Solidarności" Avenue 93 – today's Kamienica Theatre (formerly Leszno 13) and performed at Café Sztuka at Leszno 2. For her role in the play "Wiera Gran," Justyna Sieńczyłło was nominated for the Warsaw Feliks Awards in the category "Best Leading Female Role." The play was distinguished in the prestigious ranking "Best, Better, Best" of the monthly "Teatr." Duration of the performance: 60 minutes without intermission.
