    About the event

We invite you to visit the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology in silence. A special invitation is extended to people who are highly sensitive to environmental stimuli. Silent hours are held on a selected Wednesday each month from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The schedule is updated three months in advance on the museum's website and social media. During silent hours, exhibitions can only be visited individually. Group tours, guided visits, and educational activities are suspended. The last organized groups will be admitted on the day until 3:00 PM. We kindly ask you to speak in hushed voices and silence your mobile phones. Devices emitting sounds in the buildings will be turned off. If a temporary exhibition is accompanied by a soundtrack or sound design, these will be turned off during silent hours. Projections and videos in the exhibition space will not have their soundtracks completely turned off. The sound will be clearly muted to a level friendly for people with special needs. At the main building's reception, you can borrow noise-cancelling headphones for children, teenagers, and adults (the number is limited). The museum café, Café Manggha, remains open. Natural sounds of café life (guest conversations at tables) will accompany us. Music will be muted during this time. Group reservations will not be available. We kindly ask Café Manggha guests to respect silent hours when moving around the museum. The café shares part of the lobby with the museum at the reception and cloakroom, where we strive to maintain the silent hours atmosphere. 🗓 Silent hours schedule for 2026: - January 14, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - February 11, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - March 11, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - April 15, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - May 13, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - June 17, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - July 15, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - August 12, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - September 16, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - October 14, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - November 18, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM - December 16, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
