I seem to exist, but as if I don't. Breathless, motionless, a state of non-existence... (...)." /Wojciech Waglewski/ Sleep is a kind of "little death," where we leave everything behind and set off into the unknown. While dreaming, we reveal our true motivations, desires, and secrets. In dreams, everything transforms and dissolves: our "self" is not our "self," we can be objects or several people at once—identity becomes fluid and dispersed. Material objects lose their rigid form, become flexible and changeable, morphing into one another, freely swapping places and shapes. The structure of time and space is transformed, we move freely through past and future, becoming everything and nothing at the same time. In dreams, we can experience spiritual events, our subconscious emerges, and we may meet our deceased and living loved ones. If we didn't sleep, there would be no tomorrow, no today. There would be no chance for a new beginning in our lives; by falling asleep, we give ourselves hope and a chance for change. Sleep is a kind of "little death," a perfect transition to a completely different reality, rising above the world and shedding all dimensions of consciousness. Every night, we prepare for something we fear so much—the departure into a state of non-existence. By dreaming, we practice dying. Slyde Dance Theatre invites you to the performance "State of Non-Existence," a journey into the collective dream of the dancers, who individually experience the "state of non-existence," sometimes "washing away" its effects. Each dancer weaves her individual dream experiences into a shared image, marked by various emotions. Anything is possible and anything can happen. Those who dream sometimes regret, sometimes wear masks, but above all, they watch, weaving their dreams. TICKETS: 10 PLN
