The workshop will be led by Bartek Brosz – the illustrator of this extraordinary story and the entire series "Dad in Trouble." During the meeting, our guest will share a few words about himself and the work of an illustrator, reveal how book drawings are created, and then invite participants to join in the fun of creating. We will learn to draw the characters from "Revenge of the Cockroach," invent and draw a short comic story, and finally, there will be time for questions about illustrations and the secrets of creative work. A Sunday full of imagination and laughter awaits – join us! Bartek Brosz – illustrator, graphic designer, press cartoonist, author of children's books, songwriter, and creator of illustrative music for computer games. Educated as an architect, he studied at the Faculty of Architecture at the Gdańsk University of Technology, mainly for the drawing and painting classes, as he dreamed of illustrating books from an early age. While still in high school, he began collaborating with "Gazeta Olsztyńska," where his first drawings were published, and during his studies, he became a regular illustrator for "Dziennik Bałtycki." He has created illustrations for dozens of books and school textbooks. At one time, he also created graphics for adventure computer games for children featuring popular cartoon characters like Bolek and Lolek, Koziołek Matołek, and Reksio. He has written and illustrated several children's books, which have been published in Poland and abroad. 📅 September 28 We invite you on an extraordinary "journey" to Morocco – full of colors, flavors, and mysteries! The guide for the workshop will be the book "Ahlan! Morocco for the Curious," and the meeting will be led by its illustrator Aleksandra Słowińska. During the workshop, children will have the opportunity to become young illustrators and embark on a special mission to distant Africa. But is it possible to travel to Morocco in 1.5 hours? Yes! Books, illustrations, photos, and paintings are the most perfect portals for teleportation to different corners of the world, and with the help of wonderful children's imagination, it will certainly be a marvelous journey, from which we will return with our own handmade illustrations for the book. In the first part of the workshop, children will learn about the role of the illustrator in creating a book, who the author and publisher are, and what happens to a book before it reaches the bookstore. Then, together, we will engage in a series of guessing games, conversations, and stories about Morocco, see artistic inspirations – works by Henri Matisse, photographs, and examples of illustrations from the book. Like detectives, children will gather inspirations and secrets from the corners of the desert and oriental city markets. Each child will receive their own small illustrator's journal to catalog their work. In the second part, children will create their own illustration for a fragment of the text from the book "Ahlan! Morocco for the Curious" using their imagination and the information they gathered during the shared "journey."
