That’s why, for centuries, they have used the symbolic nature of plants in their works to convey a 'message from themselves.' They draw from the realm of Flora, adding plants to their bouquets of metaphors, beds of ornaments, and compositions of colorful spots. What can plants symbolize in artists’ paintings? Why did painters use these plant symbols in their works? We will take on the role of viewers from the past and try to decipher the successive layers of meaning in the paintings.
