Carnival is a time for play! We will learn where this custom comes from and how it is celebrated in different countries. We will also talk about carnival costumes and try to design our own ball outfit. We'll look for inspiration in the fashion of past eras. And who would you like to dress up as?

Every Sunday is family time, and the Museum is a great place to spend time with loved ones: admire works of art, ask difficult questions and look for answers, and even play a bit. Join us to discover the Museum together every Sunday!

In his paintings Jan Matejko depicted the most important events in Polish history. We will learn where he drew his historical knowledge from and what his “Skarbczyk” was. We will get to know the family of the master Jan and curiosities from his life. We will take a closer look at his works.

Music captured in works of art comes from various instruments — played by people and angels. In the Galleries of Early Art and Medieval Art we will also look for other sounds contained in artworks: the noises of the city, the bustle of the court or church ceremonies.

What forms can jewelry take? Who wears it and what can it be made of? We will travel through the galleries in search of bracelets, rings and earrings and meet their owners. At the end we will become designers of our own jewelry.

Are you ready for a journey back to the era in which Jacek Malczewski, one of the most important Polish painters, worked? Join us for extraordinary workshops where we will enter a world full of myths, legends and symbols. We will discover what inspired Malczewski and what stories hide behind his extraordinary paintings. Many creative tasks and surprises await!

After winter nature awakens, and in spring new colors appear. During the activities we will consider how to paint a spring landscape, what spring smells like and why artists were fascinated by this season. Together we will create colorful works of art.
