Stars, Baroque and two lutes! Join the Valentine's concert by LUTEDUO, i.e. Anna Kowalska and Anton Birula. The artists will present a forgotten repertoire created at the end of the lute’s history. You will hear contrasting styles – solemn pieces by Italian lutenists, works by Bach, transcriptions of violin and cello compositions, as well as reconstructions and arrangements of S.L. Weiss duets for 13-course baroque lutes. Both musicians studied lute with Prof. Toyohiko Satoh at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Anna also studied with Nigel North and Joachim Held, and Anton with Prof. Konrad Junghaenel at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. Together they run the lute class at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
