The title of the exhibition captures the tension between hope and bitterness. The exhibition features diverse styles, from naïve to academic and surrealist, showing expressionism as a living, multifaceted language, through the works of five young Belarusian artists. Their paintings reflect emotional intensity, resilience, and irony, using expressionism as a tool for personal and public response. Presented near the former ghetto wall in Warsaw, the show opens a space for reflection on memory, identity, and resistance. As part of a festival highlighting underrepresented and overlooked voices, the exhibition affirms painting as a powerful act of presence.
