Do you want to feel the atmosphere of the world's most important piano competition before it even begins? Join us and listen to how Polish pianists prepare to compete for the highest honors in the Chopin Competition! Every five years, the eyes of the world turn to Warsaw. This October, the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition begins - not only one of the oldest and most prestigious music competitions in the world but also a symbol of excellence in the world of classical music. This year, 641 pianists from 58 countries applied to participate. Among them, the jury selected 85 artists who qualified for the first stage. Among them – 13 representatives from Poland! Join us at Hala Koszyki, where once a month we will experience musical emotions together and support Polish participants in their preparations for the Competition. As part of the series "Koszyki Play Chopin | Supporting the Polish Representation in the Chopin Competition!" you will hear recitals by talented pianists representing Poland on this international stage. 🎹 The second concert of the series will take place on August 6 at 8:30 PM – Michał Basista will perform works by Fryderyk Chopin on one of the world's best concert pianos - Yamaha CFX. Michał Basista began his musical education at the age of 4 and is currently studying at the Krzysztof Penderecki Academy of Music in Krakow under the guidance of Dr. Milena Kędra. He is a laureate of over 60 national and international piano competitions. He has collaborated with the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra and the Lviv Chamber Orchestra. The artist is a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage and the National Children's Fund. His latest achievement is qualifying for the first stage of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in 2025. 📅 August 6 (Wednesday), 8:30 PM 📍 Hala Koszyki, ul.
