Mercy Girl balance their dark electronics between club energy and intimacy and melancholy. They have just released their first singles, and there’s already a lot of buzz — don’t miss their first concerts in our country, taking place on April 15 at the Pod Minogą club in Poznań and the following day at VooDoo in Warsaw.
Although Mercy Girl formed in November last year, the Glasgow outfit has already created considerable noise around itself. Daisy Miles, Davey Purdie, Craig Harkness and Kylie MacNaughton play music rooted in genres such as EBM, darkwave and electro-pop, addressing themes of love, desperation and the uncertainty of human experience. They sold out their debut concert, played alongside Justin Warfield (She Wants Revenge), and their tracks regularly appear at darkwave events from Los Angeles to Berlin. The single “No Sound” earned them Track of the Week on BBC 6 Music and support from BBC Introducing Scotland as Artist of the Week.
Mercy Girl’s music fits both a night drive along an empty highway and dancing in a smoke-filled club full of neon lights. We invite you to the latter — you’ll have the chance on April 15 in Poznań and the next day in Warsaw.
villaz is a composer, vocalist and producer who shapes every element of her work herself, moving in a world of nostalgic, emotive electronics. Her music records intimate experiences and everyday moments, enclosed in compact, personal sonic forms. After the mini-album “how it feels to be 19” and the single “pół”, which opened a new chapter, the artist presented the EP “nocami”.
villaz has already performed at festivals and in important concert series, and is currently working on new material while expanding the world of “nocami” through further remixes.
