The World of Longin Majdecki's Gardens 2022–2025 We invite you to participate in events concluding the anniversary celebrations dedicated to Prof. Longin Majdecki – an outstanding landscape architect, art historian, and academic teacher. The year 2025, marking the 100th anniversary of his birth, becomes a special occasion to recall his design, scientific, and teaching achievements. The celebrations, organized by the Museum of the Royal Łazienki in cooperation with ICOMOS Poland, the National Heritage Board of Poland, the Botanical Garden of the University of Warsaw, the Warsaw University of Technology, and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, aim to honor the Professor and revive discussions about cultural landscapes and the preservation of historic gardens – so crucial in today's debate about space. The initiative is actively supported by Dr. Eng. Anna Majdecka-Strzeżek, the professor's daughter and custodian of his legacy. 📅 Event Program: - October 7, 2025, 3:00 PM–5:00 PM Location: Palace on the Isle A commemorative meeting from the series "Our Greats" titled LONGIN MAJDECKI. A lecture will be delivered by Dr. Eng. Anna Majdecka-Strzeżek. The event will be recorded. Before the start, participants will be asked for consent to the dissemination of their image. - September 16 – November 3, 2025 Location: Outdoor Gallery, Ujazdowskie Avenue Outdoor exhibition The World of Longin Majdecki's Gardens – 43 panels presenting the life and work of the Professor. Visitors will see hand-drawn designs of parks and gardens juxtaposed with contemporary photographs of these places. The exhibition's authors are Beata Kańska, Magdalena Lewna, and Anna Majdecka-Strzeżek. The idea for the exhibition was born at the Museum of the Royal Łazienki, where the Professor's legacy serves as a daily reference point in research and garden care. His works remain an irreplaceable source of knowledge – based both on historical studies and an exceptional sensitivity to the "living matter" of the garden. We warmly invite you to participate in the events and jointly commemorate the work of Professor Longin Majdecki – a master who treated the landscape as a work of art and gardens as a space for dialogue between history and the present.
