About the event

"Parasite" is a thriller full of dark humour and unexpected twists about people who should never have met — the poor and the rich, the truly privileged and those pushed into the gutters. The new film by the creator of the hits "Okja" and "Snowpiercer: The Escape Machine" is a major world cinema success and a true cinematic rollercoaster.

An absolute visionary! No one else makes such great entertaining films as he does — says Quentin Tarantino about the director of "Parasite", one of his biggest fans. This was confirmed at this year's Cannes Film Festival, where in the fight for the Palme d'Or Bong Joon-ho beat "Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood", enchanting the jury, world critics and audiences.

"Parasite" is a masterful, tension-holding story in which four people without a future come up with the idea of a perfect con. An unemployed driver, a housekeeper without a home, a student without money and a girl without prospects together create a perfect plan: how to become somebody and take the place of the wealthy in the shortest possible time. In a world where only productivity and success matter, they outwit the system and fight for themselves. Even if it requires crossing the thin line between what is still allowed and what is absolutely forbidden. Bong Joon-ho shows that almost everyone dreams of a better life, promotion and a chance to succeed. But only some — thanks to unbridled imagination and a lack of scruples — are able to reach for it all.
