Artist Week - Monika Czuba & Lenka Kubica
We warmly invite you to the Contemporary Jewelry Gallery for Artist Week - Monika Czuba & Lenka Kubica, which begins on Tuesday, March 3 and runs until Sunday, March 8.
Monika Czuba:
- jewelry designer, painter, interior designer; graduated from the Wytwórnia Antidotum jewelry design and creation school and the Collage Postsecondary Art Study in Warsaw.
- member of the 'Młyn' Visual Artists group and the Association of Goldsmith Form Creators.
- participated in group and solo exhibitions, e.g. at Galeria Pi, Galeria Lescer, the Gallery of the Polswiss Art Auction House (2015), Artistar Jewels during Milano Jewelry Week 2023, Romanian Jewelry Week 2024 and the STFZ Broken exhibition at the Amber Museum in Gdańsk.
- runs her own studio in Piaseczno near Warsaw.
- her works present fairy-tale stories expressed through form and contrasting colors; she often creates single, unique pieces that emphasize the individuality of the person who wears them.
- likes to combine different techniques, materials and intense colors.
- motto: 'With jewelry it's like with a dress - you have to try it on and check if it fits.'
Lenka Kubica:
- graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław (degree in sculpture, 2006); in 2005 she was a scholarship holder at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, in the paper sculpture studio of Prof. Andreas von Weizsäcker.
- her work focuses primarily on the female body; she sculpts small figurines; she works and lives in Wrocław.
- her paintings are abstractions inspired by flora; she remains strongly influenced by the work of Georgia O'Keeffe.
- since 2019 she has been developing an original sculptural project New Venus, aimed at popularizing sculpture as a decorative element accessible to a wide audience.
- she is inspired by depictions of women in art – from the Paleolithic Venus of Willendorf, through Rubens' paintings, to the contemporary Body Positive movement; she has participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad; her works are held in private collections in Poland and beyond.
