We cordially invite you to the 1st nationwide interdisciplinary conference addressing the broad issues of breast cancer.

Breast cancer is a disease that dramatically determines and changes the lives of thousands of women in our country — epidemiological estimates indicate about 25,000 new cases annually. For most of these women, the diagnosis is associated with enormous fear for life and significantly changes quality of life after treatment.

The program includes, among others:

• breast cancer prevention;
• the latest methods and techniques of non-invasive and minimally invasive diagnostics;
• current guidelines on surgical and systemic treatment;
• discussion of special clinical situations (e.g. becoming pregnant after treatment, breast cancer during pregnancy);
• possibilities for improving quality of life after treatment.

For participants interested in surgical techniques, live transmissions of procedures from the operating rooms of the University Hospital in Kraków are planned (first day of the conference).

The final day will be devoted to holistic patient care: the role of specialized midwives and nurses and the patients’ perspective. Practical workshops in mammography, ultrasonography and minimally invasive diagnostics are also planned.
