About the event

How can you build a shared nest when overprotective moms don't let you grow up and watch every move of the young with a critical eye? Jindra and Karel (played by Katarzyna Ucherska and Jakub Józefowicz) seemingly have everything needed to start a happy life – their own place, stability, and above all, great love. However, not everything matches the scenarios written for them by their mothers – the hippie and free spirit Gene Sedláková (Izabela Dąbrowska) and the ruthless businesswoman straight out of Dynasty, Karla Králová (Ewa Gawryluk). Seemingly, they are as different as fire and water, but they share a tendency to project their own – very different – expectations onto the young couple. After all, a child always remains a child, right? But in the end, it will be the mothers-in-law themselves who will have to grow up, facing the ultimate lesson of letting go. Used to pulling the strings, Gene and Karla, due to an absurd coincidence, will have to trust their children. Will they overcome their differences and learn to accept Jindra and Karel's choices? "Mothers-in-law Forever Alive" is a play prepared especially for the 15th anniversary of Teatr Kamienica, chosen by the Founder and Director of Kamienica – the late Emilian Kamiński. Jakub Zindulka analyzes complicated love and family relationships with lightness and warmth, asking the most important questions with truly Czech humor. All this is presented as a musical comedy, masterfully directed by Olaf Lubaszenko. Premiere on April 11, 2024! Cast: Izabela Dąbrowska, Ewa Gawryluk, Katarzyna Ucherska, Jakub Józefowicz Author: Jakub Zindulka Director: Olaf Lubaszenko Original title: "Tchýnĕ na zbití" Translation: Jan Węglowski Set and costumes: Anna Rudzińska Sound direction: Łukasz Faliński Lighting direction: Filip Żygałło Photos: Rafał Latoszek Production manager: Karolina Mieteń Tickets available at: KupBilecik.pl
