Join us for the Kraków premiere of "Roguish Stories" — the new book by Jacek Dehnel.
It is a tale about people who at a certain point in life do something that cannot be undone: robbers, a self-proclaimed royal couple, a woman who died of love, a pharmacist fascinated by a hanged bandit. What connects them? Where does the impulse come from that shifts boundaries and changes the course of events?
The author will discuss the book with Paulina Małochleb — a critic and literary researcher, author of the blog "Książki na ostro." The host will ask Jacek Dehnel how the book was created, what links its characters, what the inspirations were, and how one constructs a story in which every sentence has its place and weight.
"Roguish Stories" is a literary masterpiece — prose perfected in the smallest detail, written in a beautiful, poetic language. Every sentence here is thought-out and precise, and reading this book is a pure pleasure, even when it touches difficult and unsettling topics.
During the meeting Jacek Dehnel will read fragments of his new prose. Join us for an evening of conversations about literature that does not take shortcuts and stays with the reader for a long time.
Note: seating in the audience is limited.
To take part in the meeting you must download a free ticket from the Płac Potockich website.
