On this occasion, in October, the Museum of the Archdiocese of Warsaw opens a major retrospective exhibition of this remarkable and unfortunately forgotten artist. The Museum of the Archdiocese of Warsaw holds nearly 750 works by the artist – paintings, drawings, ceramic sculptures, and designs for sacred interiors. Adam Kossowski was a versatile artist. He took on various challenges and created in many techniques. He left behind a vast legacy, scattered across cities and towns in Great Britain. The scale of these undertakings, little known and most often completely unknown to the Polish audience, is evidenced by the designs preserved in the Museum of the Archdiocese. Kossowski’s works are a unique testimony to his deep faith and devotion to God, to whom, in the dark times of the gulags, he once entrusted his life. He promised to thank God through art – and he kept his word. This is what the exhibition at the Museum of the Archdiocese of Warsaw is about. The exhibition is held under the honorary patronage of the President of the Institute of National Remembrance and under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland in Rome, Anna Maria Anders.
