📅 December 21 (Sunday) at 10:30 AM. Lecture topic: About Christmas traditions in Poland 🔗 Tickets: https://www.strefazajec.pl/course/view/id/83382 During the lecture, we will embark on a fascinating journey through the centuries in the area of Christmas celebrations. We will consider: - Does this Christian holiday hide any old, pagan customs? - Do differences in regional Christmas traditions exist in Poland? - Who is the empty seat at the Christmas Eve table really for? - Despite deep-rooted tradition and certain constancy, are these holidays changing? - What is the symbolism of these holidays? To find answers to these and other questions, we will use the knowledge of ethnographers and anthropologists—scientists who study different cultures. Then, we will create fragrant holiday decorations. Host: Joanna Woźnicka – cultural studies expert, Polish philologist, culture animator, and theater pedagogue.
