We invite you to unique sculpting workshops inspired by the exhibition "City of Animals" and the creative approach of the artist. During these classes, following in the footsteps of Bożekowska, we will look at animals in a new way, striving to become their attentive observers, noting their movement, energy, and presence in space. Domicella Bożekowska was a keen observer fascinated by the animal world. She closely followed their daily lives: sketching, sculpting, creating works in which she captured the essence of animals – their nature, habits, and ways of communicating with the world. Instead of copying nature, we will try to capture its most important qualities: character, dynamics, tension. Animals will become the starting point for creating realistic, synthetic, fantastic, or hybrid forms – those that best reflect what moves us in a given creature. It could be, for example, alertness, delicacy, or strength. The workshop creates a safe space for creative focus, enabling each participant to search for their own sculptural language. We work starting from sketches, through small sculptural studies, to the final sculpture. The most important thing here is thinking about shape, proportions, and the tension of the form – in the spirit of sensitivity that characterized Bożekowska's art. Classes are held in intimate groups of 8 people. Instructor: - Kinga Kosacz-Drozdek – sculptor and educator, graduate of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In 2007, she obtained a master's degree in the studio of Prof. Sławoj Ostrowski, with an annex in the Medal and Small Sculptural Forms Studio under Prof. Ludmiła Ostrogórska. She has participated in many solo and group exhibitions, including at the EL Gallery Art Center in Elbląg, the Art Factory in Tczew, BWA Olsztyn, and the ToTuart gallery in Warsaw.
