Project "EMERALDS" – an orchestra with a soul. CKiA invites you to create music together! A project born out of a longing for playing together, inspired by the legendary band Sapphires, which once resonated with sound in Targówek Fabryczny – right on Siarczana Street. Today, in the same place, we invite you to make music together! Who can join? - We are looking for enthusiasts – amateur musicians who want to play in an orchestra and create something unique. - Whether it's a guitar, transverse flute, ukulele, clarinet, violin, or drums – if you have an instrument and dream of performing on stage, this project is for you. - Age: we invite youth from 13 years old and adults with no upper age limit, because your talent matters, not your age. Who oversees this? The project is overseen by Mateusz Walach – conductor, arranger, composer, and producer. A graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice, creator of the chamber orchestra Silesian Art Collective, and author of numerous concert and educational projects. A person who understands orchestras like few others – and working with him is pure pleasure. He will ensure that every instrument – from tuba to castanets – finds its place in the score. We emphasize that it doesn't have to be a popular instrument like a guitar or piano. Size and volume don't matter – everyone is welcome. Mateusz will be supported by experienced musicians, arrangers, and educators – specialists in their fields, who will help participants develop both individually and as a group. It will be not only an artistic adventure but also an opportunity to learn and exchange experiences. 🎵 When and how will it look? We start in the fall – with auditions on October 4 and 5. This is not a competition but friendly meetings during which we will get to know each other – and based on the instrumentation and level of participants, we will form groups and begin a series of workshops – regular rehearsals, meetings with musicians, to refine the sound and build a repertoire together. We invite you to the first meeting – the audition, which will take place on October 4 and 5, 2025 (Saturday and Sunday) from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the headquarters of the Center for Culture and Activity, Siarczana Street 6, 03-786 Warsaw. Based on the applications, we will select the ensemble and start rehearsals and workshops – under the guidance of professionals, but with room for improvisation, creativity, and the joy of making music. Where are we heading? The culmination of the work will be organizing a concert at CKiA – but this is just the beginning. Our goal is to create a permanent ensemble representing CKiA, with the potential to perform beyond its walls. An ensemble that will be the musical showcase of the place and its people.
