Join us for the first of four walks as part of the "Warsaw Villages" project. The Wawer district (or – as the older, informal name of this area suggests – the Otwock Line) is a collection of former spa towns, located along two compositional axes: the railway line leading to Lublin and Wał Miedzeszyński (the road to Puławy). The former character of this area is gradually disappearing, but it remains an unusual example of a suburban area in the capital, illustrating the implementation of a classic, though rarely seen in Poland, planning concept. The walk, aimed at showcasing the diverse forms of urban development in this area – from traces of traditional villages, still occasionally visible in the vicinity, to the most contemporary layers of local urbanization – will be led by a local resident. 📅 23.08.2025, 11:00 AM 📍 Meeting point: platform of the Warszawa-Radość railway station Participation in the walk is free of charge. Please register at least 2 days before the walk. ✍️ Registration via form: https://forms.gle/T9TcFjFNZqYDMsjL8 Guide: Łukasz Drozda – political scientist and urban planner, PhD in public policy.
