Talk #1: „How to tame chaos effectively?” — Agnieszka Welian
Imagine a self-healing system that copes with unexpected situations and lets you sleep peacefully. If that sounds appealing, chaos engineering might be the answer. Used by companies such as Netflix, LinkedIn, Google and Facebook, it forms the foundation of reliable and resilient systems. In this session we will look at its history, learn how to apply its principles to test applications under load, and discuss tools for injecting faults in real-world scenarios.
Agnieszka Welian — cloud engineer specializing in Kubernetes, AWS and Terraform, with extensive testing experience. She is passionate about wellbeing and supporting a healthy work–life balance. Outside of work she enjoys sports, board games and spending time with her two cats.
Talk #2: „MCP - a hot potato in the appsec world” — Mateusz Olejarka
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is a new hot technology in the world of web applications and security, desired by business and developers, which poses the challenge of ensuring protection in a rapidly evolving environment. Due to a feature-first approach, MCP brings risks of both new and classic vulnerabilities. The presentation will focus on a brief introduction to MCP and its assumptions, then go through examples of classic flaws based on identified CVEs and discuss new types of vulnerabilities such as prompt injection, tool poisoning, rug pull or cross server tool shadowing, finishing with recommendations and tools that help address these issues.
Mateusz Olejarka — has over 10 years of experience in IT security. Professionally he deals with web application security and threat modeling. A former programmer. A trainer who has delivered over 90 software security trainings. A speaker at many national and international conferences. Listed on Hall of Fame pages of companies such as: Adobe, Algolia, GM, Jet, Netflix, Tesla, Twitter, Uber, Yahoo.
