SYML is embarking on a tour to promote his upcoming album – “Nobody Lives Here” and will perform twice in Poland: on February 3, 2026 at Klub Kwadrat in Kraków and on February 4, 2026 at Klub Progresja in Warsaw. SYML is the solo project of Seattle artist Brian Fennell. His pseudonym is the Welsh word for “simple” – true to its meaning, Fennell creates music that appeals to instincts, guiding us to our safe places. SYML released his debut album (bearing the same name as his artistic pseudonym) in 2019. The record featured multi-platinum tracks “Where's My Love” and the fan-favorite “Girl.” His second album from 2023, The Day My Father Died, was recorded at Studio X with renowned producer Phil Ek and includes collaborations with Guy Garvey from Elbow, Lucius, Sara Watkins from Nickel Creek, and Charlotte Lawrence. SYML’s music has become the soundtrack to countless films and TV shows and was even used by Lana Del Rey in the song “Paris, TX” from her Grammy-nominated 2023 album. SYML’s latest upcoming album, Nobody Lives Here, will be released on April 4, 2025. The forthcoming release is heralded by the singles Careful and How It Was It Will Never Be Again. The album was written, recorded, and produced by Fennell and his longtime collaborator Brian Eichelberger. The record features songs that drive a deep understanding of the fleeting nature of life, while also showcasing the contradictions of everyday existence. It tells of accepting loss, which can be accompanied by melody, lyrics, the sound of guitar or cello. As an artist, Fennell is not afraid to cross boundaries, allowing himself both to “spill his guts” and to “be gutted.” “If darkness inspires good, then it’s good to be honest about it,” he says. With over four billion streams, multi-platinum Fennell approaches grief, loss, mortality, and the passage of time directly, without hesitation, and with a great deal of harmony.
