
Do you want to learn how to create your own podcasts from scratch and share your story with the world? Join our intensive workshops, which will give you the knowledge and skills necessary to create your own short podcast! The classes are aimed at motivated people who dream of creating their own original audio project. During the workshops, we will work together on the idea, recordings, editing, and also take our first steps in the world of promotion. Remember, your enthusiasm and commitment, as well as systematic work (there will be homework!), are key! The Capital Center for Cultural Education together with Torba Reportera i Podcastera will help you create your first podcast and make it heard in Warsaw, and maybe even around the world! The project is financed from the budget of the City of Warsaw. Free for participants. 📍 Location: SCEK, ul. To participate in the workshops, please fill out the electronic application form: https://scek.pl/formularz-zgloszenia-na-warsztaty/ In the form, please include, among others: - 5 sentences about yourself and your interests. - Links to previous works – these can be audio works (e.g. amateur recordings, radio shows) or other journalistic projects (e.g. video, texts, blogs). - Optionally (but rewarded! as there are only 16 places – the instructors will decide who they will work with for eight weeks): a short audio recording (up to 2 minutes, in MP3 format) in which you tell us why you want to participate in the workshops. This is a great opportunity to show us your personality and determination. The application is valid for the entire project. It is not possible to participate on selected days. ________________________________________ What will you learn? - From idea to execution: How to find a topic you are passionate about and turn it into an engaging script. - The art of recording: How to use professional equipment (Zoom H1, H4, H8) and how to record with a smartphone to achieve the best sound quality. - Editing in practice: You will gain basic sound editing skills in Audacity. - Working with your voice: You will learn how to breathe properly, modulate your voice, and take care of diction so your recordings sound professional. - Audio storytelling: You will learn the principles of building a narrative that attracts and keeps listeners' attention. - AI support: You will see how AI tools can help in the podcast creation process. The classes will end with a grand finale on December 6, during which we will publicly present fragments of the finished podcasts! ________________________________________ Equipment requirements for participation: - Laptop with Audacity installed (download for free from the internet Audacity ® | Download for Windows): https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ - Over-ear headphones - Mobile phone capable of recording audio. ________________________________________ Instructors: Katarzyna Błaszczyk and Hanna Bogoryja-Zakrzewska are multiple award-winning radio reporters and founders of Torba Reportera i Podcastera: https://torbareportera.pl/ Since 2017, they have been sharing their knowledge and experience in creating reports and podcasts. - They have recorded over 1,500 reports for various stations (Polskie Radio, 357, RBB-Radio Berlin-Brandenburg) and over 100 reporter podcasts for companies and institutions. - They have spent over 1,000 hours in training rooms, teaching others the art of storytelling through sound. - They are authors of the book "It Really Happened. Reporter Stories" and the e-book "The Art of Conversation in Podcasts and Beyond". - Their podcast "Torba Reportera" was awarded Podcast of the Year 2021. - Their audio series "Śledztwo Pisma. Season V" was recognized as Podcast of the Year 2024 in the crime category. Their many years of experience working with youth have allowed them to develop effective teaching methods that inspire the search for one's own unique voice and storytelling through sound. Katarzyna Błaszczyk – 15 years of work at the Polish Radio's Studio of Reportage and Documentary. Graduate of the prestigious EBU Master School. She has won 20 awards for radio reports and documentaries. Hanna Bogoryja-Zakrzewska – 32 years of work at Polish Radio, has won all the most important awards for radio reporters in Poland. For her contribution to the development of radio art, she received the Medal of Merit for Polish Culture and the Bronze Cross of Merit. From 1993-2005, she worked in the reportage department of "Gazeta Wyborcza". She prepared five anthologies of reports: To nie mój pies, ale moje łóżko (1998), Anna z gabinetu bajek (1999), Nietykalni (2000), Zły dotyk (2001), Cała Polska trzaska (2005) and two parts of Podróże z Ryszardem Kapuścińskim – stories of his translators, and for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the exhibition Ryszard Kapuściński 1932-2007. Poet of reportage. From 2005-2016, she managed the archive of Ryszard Kapuściński, of whom she was the last assistant.
