Monty Waters, as an alto saxophonist, was inspired by Charlie Parker and John Coltrane; as a vocalist, he reached into the deepest roots of blues, narrative poetry that also gave rise to rap. The material from this album marks Jonkisz's return to the years of collaboration with Waters and their soulful music. Most of the tracks are Waters' compositions, including one dedicated to Jonkisz – humorously titled "Casimir the Great," or Kazimierz Wielki. Kazimierz Jonkisz: Jazz musician, drummer, and educator.
