Stand-up: Marcel Bieńkowski's Comedic Travels KRAKÓW

Traveling is an inseparable part of my comedy, and comedy is an inseparable part of my traveling. One could say “comedy is a journey,” but I'm afraid of such pseudo‑philosophical truisms, so I won't say that.

As comedians we traverse thousands of kilometers through Poland's highway circulatory system (although if highways are blood vessels, looking at the A4 our country has a heart attack about twice a day). We visit you with our traveling comedy stall and in that arrangement we are all guests and hosts at the same time. So you could say this is our shared journey, and I'll say that without a shadow of fear.

My new project will focus precisely on that journey in several dimensions. I want to give you a taste of what a traveling comedian feels and receive from you some of what you get to savor every day. I drop by while inviting you into my world. There will also be room for companions from the Internet — I want to record our trips and share them so everyone can be part of this shared adventure even when we can't meet live.

In the first part of the evening I'll present classic, tried-and-true stand-up — this will be 25–30 minutes of my newest material. Other comedians may also show up, but I'll leave that element as a surprise.

In the second part we'll focus on local comedy. I'll tell you what I've managed to learn about your city and confront it with what you want to share about your little homeland. I hope we can laugh about it together and create a comedic picture that we'll show together to good people behind screens.
