We invite you to a Christmas concert by one of the most outstanding Polish vocalists – Krystyna Prońko. Krystyna Prońko is a charismatic author of many timeless songs that have shaped our musical tastes and aesthetic sensitivity for decades. Gifted with an extraordinary, powerful voice, the Artist has carefully selected a repertoire of Christmas songs for this special occasion, which will sound particularly atmospheric in our intimate hall. We will hear, among others: - "Hej w dzień Narodzenia" - "Pójdźmy wszyscy do stajenki" - "Gloria in Excelsis Deo" - "Deszcz w Cisnej" - "Niech moje serce kołysze ciebie do snu" - "Tempus Fugit" - "Małe tęsknoty" - "Święty nieświęty" The artist will be accompanied on the piano by the virtuoso of this instrument – Przemysław Raminak. Krystyna Prońko is a graduate of the Academy of Music, Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music in Katowice. She received her diploma in 1997 with the rector's award from the then rector Henryk Górecki. She began her artistic career in the amateur movement together with her brothers (Piotr – saxophonist, Wojciech – double bassist and bass guitarist) and friends from the neighborhood. She debuted in the choir of the band "Respekt" created and led by Antoni Kopff. With this choir, she collaborated with the bands Czerwone Gitary, Skaldowie, and with Niemen in the choir of his band. After becoming independent, she formed the Koman Band with Janusz Koman, with whom she made many radio and record (vinyl LP) recordings, as well as television programs and played many concert tours, including abroad. She constantly collaborated with orchestras, including the Jazz Studio Orchestra of Polish Radio in Warsaw, the Slovak Big Band of Gustav Brom, and the German big band of Gunter Golash, making recordings and performing concerts with them. She has participated many times in national and international festivals and played several concert tours in the former USSR, GDR, Czechoslovakia, and Bulgaria, as well as in the USA and Canada. In the 1990s, she hosted her own radio and television programs. From 2000 to 2010, she taught singing at the Faculty of Arts at the Institute of Music of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. Since 1991, she has run the company P. M. Krystyna Prońko, and since 2023 the P. M. Krystyna Prońko Culture Foundation, whose aim is to continue her artistic work under her own brand. Under her own name, she has released many CDs and vinyl LPs. She has her Star on the Avenue of Stars in Opole and three gold records (see https://www.pronko.pl) She likes to mix musical genres, because as she says, "it's boring to sing the same thing all the time." This is reflected in the CD "I Like Special Occasions" released in 2020 to mark the 50th anniversary of her artistic career. She remains active in concerts and recordings, collaborating with various groups of musicians and having at her disposal her own Trio, Quartet, or collaborations with orchestras.
