Every week we meet live with artists, artistic individuals to talk about art: creative processes, works, and current experiences. Some people will appear for the first time, others have already visited the Center for Contemporary Art. In this series, we want to focus on individual attitudes and artistic practices. 🎨 Upcoming meeting: How can painting become a space between figuration and abstraction? How can images create a parallel world – full of recurring motifs, erotic allusions, cosmic visions, and phantom landscapes? This time our guest is Ivo Nikić – a visual artist whose practice includes painting, photography, installations, objects, video, and activities in public spaces. He graduated in painting from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of Prof. Jarosław Modzelewski in 2003, and since 2001 he has co-created the group szu szu with Piotr Kopik and Karol Radziszewski. Nikić's painting work balances between figuration and abstraction, evoking associations devoid of clear references to reality. His paintings create a parallel world where reality returns like an echo, gaining new meanings. 🌟 Why is it worth participating? In times of tensions and crises, collective thinking and conversations about contemporary art, which responds to the challenges of the present in unconventional ways, help strengthen social resilience. Art is not just an object. Equally important are: process, thinking, emotions, and relationships. Live meetings allow us to closely observe how art is created and – most importantly – who creates it. The events are open to everyone: to those professionally involved in culture and art, as well as to those curious about its creators. Or simply those who want to talk about art. 📅 Upcoming meetings: - 17/09 — Yulia Krivich - 24/09 — Xavery Deskur The meetings are recorded for archival purposes. They are available in the Mediatheque, where interested individuals can watch them online. We want the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle to be accessible to everyone. To adapt the event to you and your needs, please contact our accessibility coordinator Ewa Doan: [email protected], no later than the Monday preceding the given meeting.
