When someone is harmed in a public space, the first thought to rush to help is quickly replaced by another: "I won't get involved, maybe it's a family matter. I don't know what to do. Someone has surely already called for help. There are other people here, they will surely help, and I can't manage." The problem is that every witness to the event thinks the same way. As a result, no one steps in to help... And this sometimes ends in a tragedy that could have been prevented. How to handle situations of danger in public places and how to safely react when someone is harmed on the street? This will be the focus of the September Social Campaign: STOP INDIFFERENCE ON THE STREET. It is a grassroots initiative by Warsaw residents, under the honorary patronage of the Mayor of Warsaw. The campaign's partners include Warsaw universities, the Warsaw Police Headquarters, the Warsaw Municipal Guard, non-governmental organizations, and sports centers. Details of all campaign events can be found on the website: https://www.stop-znieczulicy.pl. The Warsaw Social Innovation Laboratory "Synergia" will support the campaign with additional events at the building on Markowska 16. 📅 How and when?: - September 13 and 20 (Saturdays) from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we invite you to the Local Activity Center "Synergia" on the 1st floor (staircase A) for a live broadcast of lectures from PKiN. - September 18, 19, 25, 26 (2 Thursdays and 2 Fridays) in the evening hours, we invite you to the DOJO room on the 3rd floor (staircase B) for a 4-day self-defense course for women. 📧 Those interested in participating in the lectures or self-defense course at Markowska 16 are asked to register via email: [email protected] Registration is open now until September 5 or until spots are filled.
