In the Circle of Slavic Tales – Autumn Equinox Welcome to the world of magic, ancient beliefs, and stories that have been woven among people for centuries like threads spun by the Spinners of fate. "In the Circle of Slavic Tales" is a series of four unique meetings held at key moments of the year – during the summer and winter solstices and the spring and autumn equinoxes. It is during these times that the boundary between worlds seems thinnest, and Slavic myths and rituals gain new power. Third meeting: Autumn Equinox – Tales of Sowing and Harvest 📅 When? Registration required: https://forms.gle/TxbV5EJsDw9VDWZf6 The autumn equinox is a time of transition – day and night become equal once again. From this magical moment, night takes over – growing longer and stronger. For the ancient Slavs, this was an extremely important moment. In gratitude for abundance, offerings were made to the gods of fertility: Świętowit, Mokosz, and Veles. It is a time of gratitude, reflection, and manifestation of dreams. We will also gather in the circle of tales to celebrate this moment. Stories will be told about sowing and harvest, about demons connected to the field, earth, and wind: - about the Lady with a long white braid, winding among the grains like a snake, - about Płanetnik, who can chase away rain and summon storms, - about the mischievous Sral, who could dance a maiden to death... ...and also about people who tried to tame these forces and coexist with them – to preserve their lives and not lose their dreams. The tales will be intertwined with music and singing by Bart Pałyga, who will enchant us with the sounds of ancient songs. The meeting will also include a shared discussion about beliefs, fairy tales, and their messages – because stories are not just entertainment but also wisdom that has accompanied people for centuries. It will be dark, sometimes scary, but also funny, moving, and romantic. 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀: STORYTELLERS: - 𝙍𝙤𝙠𝙨𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙋𝙞𝙚𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙘𝙯𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙨 – by education a philologist and cultural expert, by passion an enthusiast of Argentine tango and the High Tatras, by calling a storyteller and Weaver of Tales, member of the artistic group "Group 501." She is a Weaver of Tales for whom every story is a thread connecting the real world with the magical one, the past with the present. The voices of forgotten ancestors resonate in tales woven between the World and the Afterworld. She draws inspiration for her creations from Slavic mythology, demonology, and folk beliefs. She is particularly fascinated by East Slavic folklore and dark, eerie stories. Roksana mainly tells stories for adults, skillfully combining humorous tales with dark elements. Since April 2022, she has been performing her original programs as part of various cultural projects and festivals. Among them are: XVI Ethno Port Poznań Festival – SMALL ETHNO, XXX European Heritage Days: Connected by Heritage, 5th Backyard Circus Festival CYRKOPOLE in Psie Pole, Łódź of Four Cultures Festival – IDENTITY – SMALL FŁ4K, and "Festival of PROCESSES. Dare to Dream!" - 𝑺𝒛𝒚𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝑮𝒐́𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒄𝒛𝒚𝒌 – 𝑨𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒘𝒔𝒌𝒊 - storyteller for 10 years, member of the "Caravan of Tales" group. His repertoire includes stories from various parts of the world – read from books, composed by himself, or heard from other storytellers. He tells stories for children, teenagers, and adults. He tells with words, voice, gestures, using music created on various instruments or accompanied by musicians. He has told stories in many places around the world: in Mexico (2015-2018), Palestine (2016), Cuba (2017 and 2019), Finland (2019), and of course in Poland (since 2014). He also conducts cyclical animation activities during his workshops and storytelling art classes. MUSIC AND SINGING: - 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝑷𝒂ł𝒚𝒈𝒂 - multi-instrumentalist, composer; student and collaborator of Maria Pomianowska. He learned ethnic singing techniques and playing instruments from authentic masters performing traditional music. He specializes in playing dozens of string and ethnic instruments from around the world: electric cello, double bass, Płock fiddle, three-string basses, kemanche, sarangi, wspak, jaw harp, Chinese zither, Chinese er-hu, riq, morin-huur, gadulka, duduk, saaz, lauto, daf, didgeridoo. He learned throat and overtone singing (chöömej) from masters in Tuva (Siberia). His throat singing inspired Krzesimir Dębski, who invited the artist to participate in recordings of music for Jerzy Hoffman's film Old Tale. He performs and records albums with renowned artists and bands, including Maria Pomianowska, Gendos, Masala, Mosaik, Village Kollektiv, Lutosłowianie Orchestra, Michał Rudaś, Radio Samsara, Talking Gourd, Lantern, Cicha and Pałyga, Mud Cavaliers.
