    About the event

How was today's Warsaw imagined 100 years ago? How do we see Warsaw today? What will Warsaw of the future be like? Exactly 100 years ago, Benedykt Hertz and Aleksander Świdwiński created the comic Warsaw in the Year 2025. On the occasion of this round anniversary, the Museum of Caricature revisits this story, juxtaposing it with depictions of the capital in the works of contemporary comic artists, satirical illustrators, and graphic designers. Alongside works from the Museum's collection, we will showcase originals by mid-career and young-generation creators, including Edyta Kranc, Rafa Janko, Jakub Topor, Beata Pytko, Marcin Podolec, and Anna Krztoń. At the exhibition Warsaw in the Year 2025, we will explore visual narratives as a universal way of presenting social moods. How relevant will the vision of today's Warsaw, drawn a century ago, prove to be? What issues does the city face today? In what colors do we see our future? The exhibition will offer the opportunity to co-create the display. We will encourage museum visitors to prepare their own works, in which we will share our visions of the future of Poland and its capital. 🎨 Warsaw in the Year 2025 📅 September 12 - October 12, 2025 📅 September 11, 2025 | Thursday | 6:00 PM - opening 📍 Museum of Caricature, Kozia Street 11, Warsaw 👩‍🎨 Artists: - Robert Adler - Piotr Białczak - Krzysztof Gawronkiewicz - Aleksandra Herzyk - Rafa Janko - Berenika Kołomycka - Janek Koza - Edyta Kranc - Anna Krztoń - Gosia Kulik - Jacek Kuziemski - Tomasz Leśniak - Piotr Marzec - Jan Mazur - Kasia Mazur - Michał Możejko - Agata Nowicka - Unka Odya - Krzysztof Owedyk - Maciej Pałka - Bogumiła Pepasińska - Szaweł Płóciennik - Marcin Podolec - Beata Pytko - Jakub Rebelka - Sławomir Shuty - Rafał Skwierawski - Helena Smołka - Beata Sosnowska - Michał Śledziński - Jacek Świdziński - Jakub Topor - Przemysław Truściński 🎭 Curator: Michał Olech 🎭 Museum of Caricature curator/exhibition arrangement: Michał Rzecznik 🎨 Graphic design and poster project: Paweł Osial Organizers: Museum of Caricature, City of Warsaw Partner: Friends of Warsaw Society Media patronage: NN6T, TVP3 Warsaw, naszemiasto.pl, Stolica Magazine More information about the exhibition: https://muzeumkarykatury.pl/pl/?view=article&id=754&catid=39
