“Is a garden possible here?” – meeting around the publication about the ruderal area near the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture 📅 September 16 (Tue), 6:00 PM 📍 Garden of the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture Free admission Accessibility: PJM translation We invite you to a meeting summarizing the research-artistic project “Is a garden possible here? The ruderal area near the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture,” which will take place on September 16. We will talk about the actions taken during the site research, the methods used, and the results. As part of the project, a publication was created, which will be presented to the public for the first time. The co-authors are students of SWPS. During the meeting, we will delve into some of the outlined threads and contexts. In addition to sharing knowledge, we invite you to celebrate together and perform the role of a “garden” in the urban fabric. We would love to hear your reflections or memories, engaging in discussions together – both about what was and what could be. Each participant will receive a free copy of the publication about the garden! We invite you to conversations, testing alternative research methods, and picnicking together. Accessibility: Event with PJM translation Location description: The green area (garden of the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture) is located to the right of the entrance to the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture. It is separated from the institution's building by a lawn with a low hedge. From the main entrance of the Mazowiecki Institute of Culture to the entrance to the green area, it is about 55 steps, and a sidewalk with guiding lines leads there. When the sidewalk ends and cobblestones begin, turn left. After turning, the surface changes, and old hexagonal concrete slabs can be felt underfoot. They lead directly to the entrance to the green area. The entrance consists of a metal gate and a concrete threshold, a few centimeters high. When the gate is open, simply step over the threshold to enter the green area. Beyond the threshold, a path paved with hexagonal slabs stretches across the green area and ends at the gate to the school grounds. The path is marked on both sides by curbs. The curbs have uneven edges and heights. The rest of the area is a sparse lawn with a few trees. Diagonally from the entrance, on the other side of the area, there is a permaculture plot where garden plants, herbs, and forest fruits are planted.
